We are in need of volunteer sales associates for the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Gift Shop. The Gift is located on the first floor of the Main Hospital at 725 Welch Road, Palo Alto CA. The gift shop hours are currently 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday and 10am to 2pm on Saturday.
The Gift Shop is run by volunteers from the Roth Auxiliary, part of the Association of Auxiliaries for Children. Formed in 1989, the Roth Auxiliary’s mission is to provide a service for patients, their families, friends and staff at Packard Children’s Hospital while raising funds for the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health.
To qualify, you must go through a hospital orientation and training as well as receive required inoculations. There is no cost to you for these procedures. We also request that you commit to working at least two 4 hour shifts per month. Morning and afternoon shifts are available. No prior sales experience is required. In addition, although you are not required to become a member of the Roth Auxiliary to be a sales associate, we would be delighted if you joined our team. Upon your orientation, we will share with you the many benefits of becoming a member of our dedicated and friendly group committed to serving the LPCH community.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Roth Auxiliary is to manage and operate the gift shop at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH) where patients, families, and employees can enjoy a respite during their time spent in the hospital. In addition, all proceeds from the gift shop are used to contribute to payment for uncompensated care so that every patient at LPCH is served.
Description
The Roth Auxiliary has operated the gift shop at LPCH for over 25 years. Since opening its doors in 1991, this nearly all-volunteer organization has, with great pride, donated over $2 million for hospital services that support children and their families regardless of their ability to pay.
In 2018, LPCH opened a beautiful, new hospital which includes a new and expanded gift shop. In the new shop, the Auxiliary continues its tradition of offering a bright and cheerful space for shoppers to browse through a colorful inventory of toys and books, purchase a needed sundry item, or perhaps select a piece of jewelry or soothing spa lotion for a new mom. Most importantly, the gift shop team prides itself in offering a calm and unintrusive place to take a break from the hospital experience.
