Community Threads is a 100% non-profit resale store located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. The profits raised by our store benefit local charities and provide scholarships for children's education, grants given to a homeless shelter and food pantry in Chicago, and funds for leadership training programs. We are able to accept items and sell them at an affordable price and keep items out of the landfills.
Community Threads is a great environment for groups to serve in because we have numerous departments and tasks to work in and complete. Our staff members are equipped with instruction for leading groups on a variety of projects-from lifting and moving boxes of donations, to sorting clothing, housewares, toys, and jewelry, to helping organize and clean our sales floor. Both sitting and standing jobs are available.
Community Threads has plenty of parking, restrooms, air conditioning and heating, complimentary water bottles and treats, and a break room for groups to meet and discuss the serve. This is a great way for groups to build team spirit and give back to their local community!
Available service times: Monday through Friday from 10 am to 8 pm.
