TheatreWorks of Florida, a non-profit professional theatre company in Davenport, FL, is dedicated to improving the quality of life and delivering high quality performances for the: General public, schools, elderly and underserved populations. The theatre is located on the Davenport Community Campus (formerly the Davenport School of the Arts campus).

  • Two Ushers are needed per show (several show times/dates to choose from) to greet patrons, take tickets,help patrons to their seats, and clean theatre on performance nights/days of "The Marvelous Wonderettes". Training is provided.
  • All performances run on weekends: Fri & Sat Committment Times - 7 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. and Sun commitment is 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Choose any day)
  • Performance Dates: 9/8-10/2017; 9/15-17/2017
  • Age:*14 - Adults; *Ushers ages 14-18 require a parental permission slip. Parents purchasing tickets may accompany their student.
  • Ushers should be outgoing, friendly, public service minded and able to demonstrate professional and courteous service and refrain from cell phone use while on duty and while watching performances.
  • Attire: Ushers are to wear: White shirt/blouse with sleeves; Black or Tan dress pants; Dark color or tan closed-toe shoes. (T-shirts, shorts, flip-flops or sneakers are NOT permitted). Food Service gloves will be provided.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a crowd, stand for periods of time and ambulate freely, listen attentively, ability to see, mental ability to follow instructions.

As a TheatreWorks volunteers are invited with House Manager's approval to watch performances after all late seating is complete & seating is available. You are also welcome to watch/attend rehearsals/classes; meet directors, choreographers, designers, cast, crew and other creative souls and qualify for purchasing show tickets (for family/friends) at a discount. Most of all gain satisfaction in knowing that as a part of this team, you are helping to improve lives throught the arts with our main stage, outreach and education programs!
