In Ho Chi Minh, we offer you a homestay experience. With this you would stay with other volunteers and Vietnamese students. As many students don’t get the opportunity to practise their English. We want to create an environment where they can practise their English by getting you guys to live with them. This provides a unique opportunity for you as a volunteer, as you would get to live and experience the Vietnamese culture first hand while being able to help the Vietnamese to practise their English communication skills.
We also would ask you along with 2 other volunteers to teach 1 class in the evening for 90 minutes, Monday - Friday.
In exchange for your help, you will be provided with 3 meals a day, accommodation which would be similar to a hostel environment but run by us. We would have outdoor activities every weekend that you are more than welcome to join. These activities include picnics, camping, visiting famous places and museums in and around Ho Chi Minh City. Also, there would be small trips organised to visit areas outside Ho Chi Minh.More opportunities with Mercury Center

Mission Statement
Our mission is simple. We want the English language to be accessible to everyone. The high cost of English lessons in Vietnam means that learning English is unaffordable and therefore impossible for the vast majority of our society. We want to change this. As Vietnam is gaining force in the global market, being fluent in English is essential for many Vietnamese to get a decent job. By providing low cost as well as free lessons to the Vietnamese population, we hope to make English accessible to everyone.
Description
We are a non-profit organisation founded by two brothers, James and Peter. Coming from humble beginnings, James and Peter were street vendors who realised that the average Vietnamese person's English was not up to international standard. After teaching themselves English, they vowed to dedicate their time to help fellow lower-class children who couldn't afford the steep price of an English education in Vietnam by opening a place of their own. They put their hearts and experience into it and with the help of generous and hard-working volunteers, they have brought a valuable and cherished organisation to the less fortunate people of Vietnam.
