Our mission is simple. We want the English language to be accessible to everyone. The high cost of English lessons in Vietnam means that learning English is unaffordable and therefore impossible for the vast majority of our society. We want to change this. As Vietnam is gaining force in the global market, being fluent in English is essential for many Vietnamese to get a decent job. By providing low cost as well as free lessons to the Vietnamese population, we hope to make English accessible to everyone.
We are a non-profit organisation founded by two brothers, James and Peter. Coming from humble beginnings, James and Peter were street vendors who realised that the average Vietnamese person's English was not up to international standard. After teaching themselves English, they vowed to dedicate their time to help fellow lower-class children who couldn't afford the steep price of an English education in Vietnam by opening a place of their own. They put their hearts and experience into it and with the help of generous and hard-working volunteers, they have brought a valuable and cherished organisation to the less fortunate people of Vietnam.
This was a great place to being my volunteering journey. I love the family friendly atmosphere that you are met with straight away. Everyone ứa super friendly and helpful. The unique blend of volunteers made for some great chats and nights out.
Gam and Peter are so passionate about Mercury.
The food was divine!
The students where a blast to teach. So keen to learn. I worked a maximum of 20hrs a week with 2days off, where I was free to explore Hanoi and the surrounding areas. They provided everything and if you needed something extra they were more than happy to help.
I definably plan to come back here!
