Ozanam Manor is our transitional shelter for an especially vulnerable group of adults experiencing homelessness: those over age 50 or with disabilities. By providing a home, a safe place to sleep, and a community, we restore the dignity and hope of individuals so that they can heal from the traumatizing effects of homelessness as they are helped to move to permanent homes.
Ozanam Manor is in need of a handyman, who has a broad knowledge of general maintenance, fixing and repair of all varieties of items (basic electrical & plumbing). Our shelter is 30 years old and can use some extra love!
Volunteer Shifts: flexible Monday-Friday between 8am-noon

Mission Statement
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul has a 2-part mission that is dependent upon YOU! We Feed, Clothe, House, & Heal homeless & low-income individuals and families in our community who are in need of support. We provide meaningful opportunities for volunteers to serve their neighbors in need with love and compassion. Volunteers are 95% of our workforce because we believe this is how our world works best - we all need to work together to create a community that works for all of us.
Description
SVdP has been serving our community throughout central and northern Arizona since 1946.
Programs include:
* Services for the homeless.
* Medical and dental care for the working poor.
* Charity dining rooms that serve thousands each day.
* Food boxes for hungry families.
* Thrift stores throughout the region.
* A bridge housing shelter.
* General assistance for individuals in need.
To begin, we invite you to attend a virtual volunteer orientation. This will give you a sense of our mission and history, and help you figure out the ways to use your passions to best help us accomplish our service to the community. We’ll review the many different volunteer opportunities available (over 25 programs / locations!), and help you figure out where your interests match up and what type of volunteer position will work best for you and your schedule.
