ORGANIZATION: Community Education Partnerships


We are currently recruiting volunteers at new locations in San Leandro and Alameda.

Over 300,000 homeless youth are in Califonia schools. Community Education Partnerships is seeking volunteer tutors for students in Alameda and San Leandro for the remainder of the summer and into the academic school year.

As a volunteer tutor with Community Education Partnerships, you will be matched with a student who needs academic support and encouragement. Volunteers with work with their students one-on-one.

San Leandro, Summer Reading Club, Thursdays 7-8pm, ages 4-9

Alameda, one-on-one tutoring, Wednesdays 7-8pm, 4 year olds, and teens.

The mission of Community Education Partnerships (CEP) is to increase the learning opportunities and enhance the academic achievement of students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in the Bay Area.

Description

The primary function of CEP is to recruit and train volunteers to provide high-quality academic tutoring for children experiencing housing insecurity in the pre-kindergarten - 12th grade school system. Volunteers get matched with a student with whom they meet once per week, typically at a shelter or transitional home.
