Announcing Special Gallery Installation Opportunity
Volunteer Shifts: Friday, September 8 - Thursday, September 14, various times available
Help artist Hans Hemmert build a castle made of balloons in our gallery!
German artist Hans Hemmert's work redefines the concept of sculpture. Breaking free of the very notion of the sculpture as a freestanding form in space, Hemmert reenvisions the genre with a contemporary interpretation of the relationship between sculptor, sculpture, and space. Using latex balloons, Hemmert creates both a sculpture and a separate enclosed world all his own.
Hemmert's Luftschloss sculpture will be part of the Art Center' vibrant fall exhibition, Play! Installation will take place during business hours Monday though Sunday. Volunteers must be able to kneel and sit on the floor for several hours at a time. Lunch provided for those that work for the morning shift. Enlist a friend and sign up together for this opportunity and be part of Play!
