After training, you are matched with an adult student and meet once a week for two hours.

ReadWest Adult Literacy Center is looking for adults 17 years or older to assist adult learners with their literacy skills. English as a Second Language Tutoring is one volunteering opportunity that helps adult learners with speaking, pronunciation, idioms, and basic reading and writing skills in English.
Basic Literacy Tutoring is assisting adult students with reading, writing, math skills, computer literacy, financial literacy or other personal literacy needs. We are also looking for volunteers to help our students with High School Equivalency preparation, citizenship, and any literacy skills you wish to share with our community.

Description

ReadWest has been helping adults learn to read, write, and speak English for over 30 years. Trained volunteers meet with an adult learner once a week for two hours. We help improve the reading and writing levels of English speakers. We also help English Language Learners acquire survival English and workplace vocabulary. NO teaching experience needed. We have an all English approach, so NO foreign language experience is required.
