STAFF/VOLUNTEER DRIVER - Position Description
(Meals Express, Brown Bag Delivery & Grocery Shopping Assistance)
A Program for Daly City & North San Mateo County Residents. Sponsored by the County of San Mateo - Aging and Adult Services
Duties:
Work closely with Care Coordinator to determine a list of members who require home delivery, maximum amount of deliveries per driver and delivery routes
Work with Care Coordinator to determine a back-up driver to fill-in for vacations and time away
Fill/pick-up bags with food weekly and deliver to each Brown Bag member on the route
Keep membership cards and maintain delivery information of everyone on the route
Make sure deliveries are checked on attendance roster weekly
Pick-up empty bags from members and return them to the site weekly
Commit to weekly deliveries for a minimum of one year
Sign the volunteer records form weekly and provide the number of hours worked
Attend home delivery training bi-annually
Attend supervision meetings and actively participate in feedback sessions
Qualifications:
Volunteers must:
1. Be at least 18 years of age
2. Provide their own vehicle for deliveries
3. Provide a valid California driver’s license and current auto insurance annually
4. Agree to be pre-screened to include:
a. In-person interview
b. Minimum 1 year volunteer commitment
c. Successful completion of background check (to be renewed bi-annually)
d. Possess Strong interpersonal skills
e. Desire to be of service to older adults and those with disabilities
Requirements:
Must pass a criminal background check and sign confidentiality agreement.

After School Academic Programs (A.S.A.P.)
After School Literacy Tutoring, Homework Assistance and Enrichment programs for all 14 elementary and middle schools in Daly City, 4 South San Francisco schools, 1 Brisbane and 1 Bayshore district elementary schools.
Our Second Home (OSH)
Our Second Home Early Childhood Family Resource Center is Daly City’s first community center dedicated to the needs of young children and to providing support for the adults in their lives.
Healthy Aging Response Team (H.A.R.T.)
HART is a collaborative effort of local organizations that have come together to serve the rapidly changing needs of adults 50+ and persons with disabilities. It promotes a sense of community-building by allowing peers to volunteer and help their neighbors.
Daly City Community Resource Center (DCCRC)
The DCCRC provides support and quality crisis intervention services, either directly or by referral, empowering individuals/families towards self-sufficiency.
