We are seeking assistance with our Sales Floor and Warehouse. Our hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. We ask that you dedicate four hour shifts (9:30 am to 1:30 pm and 12:45 pm to 4:45 pm) in order to maximize productivity. Please let the volunteer coordinator know how we can best accomodate you schedule.
The positions go as follows:
Volunteer Sales Floor Associate:
- Help with customer service
- Helping customers find products and supplies
- Move furniture throughout the day to maximize floor space
- Assist AmeriCorp members, ReStore staff, and ReStore management with improving customer service experience by relaying any complaints or issues heard throughout the store
- Maintain safety while volunteering on the Sales Floor
Volunteer Warehouse Associate:
- Assist with deliveries and pick-ups
- Move furniture on and off cars, trucks, and pick-up vehicles
- Assist customers with completing donation receipts when necessary
- Clean, inspect, and test all donations prior to relocating them to the Sales Floor
- Maintain safety while volunteering in the Warehouse
Requirements:
- Ability to lift 15 pounds or more
- Good communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- License to operate a forklift is a plus
- Desire to help others and work in a positive environment

Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian non-profit dedicated to eliminating substandard housing in Kent County, Delaware. We believe adequate and affordable shelter is a matter of conscience and action. Habitat for Humanity has always had a policy of building with people in need, regardless of race or religion. Description
Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity (CDHFH) serves Kent County by partnering with low-income families to build simple, decent, affordable homes. We are able to build affordable homes by engaging the community to volunteer at all stages of our operation, securing donated resources, and selling the home at no profit with a zero interest loan.
We are currently building in Frederica and in March 2015 we will be moving to Dover, DE.
