Mission Statement

Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian non-profit dedicated to eliminating substandard housing in Kent County, Delaware. We believe adequate and affordable shelter is a matter of conscience and action. Habitat for Humanity has always had a policy of building with people in need, regardless of race or religion. Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity is founded on the conviction that every person should have a simple, decent, and affordable place to live. We pursue this mission by partnering with selected families who are able to pay for their home. We consider this partnership integral to our belief in "a hand up, not a hand out."

Description

Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity (CDHFH) serves Kent County by partnering with low-income families to build simple, decent, affordable homes. We are able to build affordable homes by engaging the community to volunteer at all stages of our operation, securing donated resources, and selling the home at no profit with a zero interest loan.

We are currently building in Frederica and in March 2015 we will be moving to Dover, DE.
