Do you enjoy helping people? Do you have strong communication skills? Are you looking for a meaningful volunteer opportunity? Do you enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds and ages? Are you an active retiree or are you looking to break into the nonprofit sector? This might be the opportunity for you!
Age-In-Place(r) is looking for Volunteer Leaders to join our small but dynamic team. We are dedicated to improving the living conditions and social support of low income seniors, preserving affordable housing options, and providing meaningful, intergenerational volunteering opportunities. The Age-In-Place(r) program ( www.age-in-place.org ) has been continually operating since 1995 (that’s 22 years!) and we need your help to grow. Together we will mobilize volunteers to provide free yard work and house cleaning services for older adults in Wards 4, 5, and 6 of DC. You will orient and lead volunteers and communicate with clients as they complete Age-In-Place(r) projects.
Ideally, you are available at least two days a month, every month, to lead projects. Each project is 3 hours. We are flexible. We are looking for someone who can make a committment monthly so we can count on you as a leader and you can feel connected to the community and our mission.
We have other opportunities available if you can only come sporadically.
Please contact us and we can talk!
