The Contra Costa Humane Society, a private non-profit animal rescue in Pleasant Hill, is looking for new volunteers for its Kitty Corner, a large open free-range room for adoptable cats and kittens. We are in need of volunteers for Kitty Corner morning shifts (8-10 am)--one for Tuesdays and one for Thursdays.
During the morning shifts, you work with a small team to complete the following duties: scooping and cleaning the litter boxes; refreshing the water and dry food bowlsl; cleaning the cat towers; vacuuming and mopping the floor; socializing the cats and kittens; and occasionally administering medication.
This is a weekly commitment, and we ask that people commit to at least six months of volunteering. Reliability is very important, as you are working with two other volunteers per morning shift. Please note that we are also unable to accomodate community service hours at this time.
If you are interested in this opportunity, you may complete our online volunteer application on our website at cchumane.org. Just click "Support" at the top of the page, and scroll down to "Volunteer". Thank you, and we look forward to hearing fron you!
