Event Planning Volunteer

Each year we host a variety of educational events focused on bringing people together to learn more about a social justice issue. In this role, you will help plan and implement these events.


  • Solicit for event sponsors
  • Assist with planning a variety of events, ranging from educational trainings to fundraisers
  • Plan details of events including: creating agendas, identifying needed resources, and advertising
  • Engage other volunteers to fill roles for the day(s) of events (greeters, set-up, etc)
  • Assist with coming up with event ideas

Training and Support

  • Orientation to the organization and programs
  • Orientation provided on our event planning strategy
  • Directly supported by the Executive Director
  • Ongoing collaboration with FNVW staff and other volunteers

Time Commitment

  • 2-6 hours a month
  • 1 year commitment
  • Flexible work location, can either work remotely or from the FNVW office

Organizational Summary

Friends for a NonViolent World (FNVW) seeks a world free from violence and the threat of violence. We champion nonviolence as the foundation for effective programs and actions to promote the dignity of every human being. Our programs demonstrate the power of nonviolent action and transformation at personal, community and institutional levels.

FNVW is a Quaker-inspired organization that welcomes volunteers from all faith practices as well as volunteers with no religious orientation.
