Your skills, talents, and desires determine your volunteer experience: Directly support patients in a non-medical way as a friendly visitor providing companionship in person and/or remotely, provide a licensed service (such as cosmetology), or indirectly support patients and their families by helping in the office and/or with special projects. Just as our patient services are unique to each patient, the volunteer experience is uniquely suited to each volunteer's availability, desires, and gifts/talents.

All volunteers receive excellent initial and also ongoing training and support, as well as required TB screening - absolutely free. Additionally, volunteers can earn school service hours and also professional employment references.

Heartland Hospice is in your community and nationwide, with a Volunteer Program offering multifaceted support to our patients. For more information visit https://www.heartlandhospice.com/volunteers/ and consider the impact volunteering, even just once a week, makes on precious lives - including yours.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to improve your health and well-being.

We proudly provide hospice care wherever people call home: whether that's the house they've lived in for decades, an independent living community, an assisted living facility, a skilled nursing center, or anywhere else patients find the greatest comfort. Our caregivers help create individualized care plans, set personal goals, and manage pain and symptoms. Every patient is unique, with their own challenges, needs, family and friends, so the care we give each patient is unique as well.
