We are looking for volunteers to join our Board of Directors. You will advise, govern, oversee policy and direction, and assist with the leadership and general promotion of Carver Scott Humane Society so as to support the organization’s mission, vision, values and strategic planning efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure healthy governance: setting direction; making policy and strategy decisions, overseeing and monitoring organizational performance

• Lead strategically: utilize strategic planning processes to drive decision-making

• Supervise and support the Executive Director: provide clear expectations, guidance and feedback as the ED operationalizes and executes strategically-driven organizational goals

• Be An Ambassador: represent the organization at community functions; promote the organization; fundraise and outreach; enhance relationships with other community groups and agencies

• Ensure financial stability: fundraising; fiscal responsibility; adoption and oversight of the annual budget

REQUIREMENTS:

• Commitment to the work of the organization
• Willingness to serve on at least one committee
• Financial contributions at a level that is meaningful to the individual
• Attend monthly board meetings
• A time commitment of 4-6 hours a month
• Attendance at the Annual Meeting
• Participate in the discussions and deliberations of the board
• Attend Special Events as able
• Understand the policies and procedures of Carver-Scott Humane Society
