Cause Studio aims to reduce the number of failing startup nonprofit organizations by providing resources, training and tools that are designed to scale, encourage collaboration and sustain impactful programs and services. This is achieved through a 3-year cohort and curriculum based incubator, community workshops, and networking events. Founded in January 2015, Cause Studio has incubated 10 organizations to combined income generating activities exceeding $500,000. Additionally, 20 collaborative workshops have provided training to more than 1000 professionals.

We recently moved into a 1-room office (approximately 17' x 20') that qw are setting up as a shared workspace for several organizations. Ideally we would like to paint before we move in our furniture. In an effort to repurpose funds back into our core programming, we are hoping to find 1-4 volunteers that can knock out painting the office in a few hours.

We would like to have volunteers who have experience in painting, but our goal is to get the job done. We do require that all volunteers be at least 16 years old.

Our goal is have the office painted the last week of June 2017.

Mission Statement

Cause Studio, a fiscally sponsored 501c3 nonprofit initiative of FJC, aims to reduce the number of failing startup nonprofit organizations by providing resources, training and tools that are designed to scale, encourage collaboration and sustain impactful programs and services. Our mission is achieved through a 3-year cohort and curriculum based incubator, community workshops, networking events, and leadership development training.

Description

Cause Studio is a startup nonprofit incubator and training resource initiative. It was founded out of the spirit and understanding that some of the greatest solutions to our community challenges are created by local residents. Many of these residents try to execute these solutions by creating nonprofit organizations yet they lack the business acumen to scale and sustain them. Our organization targets founders, board members, executive directors and volunteers who oversee startup nonprofits that have not been in existence for more than 5 years and/or have operating budgets under $100,000. These individuals typically work a traditional job outside of their nonprofit efforts and have limited budgets. Therefore they are not able to take advantage of nonprofit programs offered during the day. Our programs and services are primarily offered during evening and weekend hours.

Programs and Services

Our organization provides two distinct program offerings for nonprofits serving the North Texas community. The first is our incubator concept, which includes a 9-month on/ 3-month off hands on curriculum based training cohort for 10 startup organizations annually. They receive 9 hours of class training monthly in addition to a 2-3 hours one to one mentoring session.

The second is our community based training. During the program year, community training on various topics are provided to the greater nonprofit community in North Texas.
