Mission Statement

Cause Studio, a fiscally sponsored 501c3 nonprofit initiative of FJC, aims to reduce the number of failing startup nonprofit organizations by providing resources, training and tools that are designed to scale, encourage collaboration and sustain impactful programs and services. Our mission is achieved through a 3-year cohort and curriculum based incubator, community workshops, networking events, and leadership development training.

Description

Cause Studio is a startup nonprofit incubator and training resource initiative. It was founded out of the spirit and understanding that some of the greatest solutions to our community challenges are created by local residents. Many of these residents try to execute these solutions by creating nonprofit organizations yet they lack the business acumen to scale and sustain them. Our organization targets founders, board members, executive directors and volunteers who oversee startup nonprofits that have not been in existence for more than 5 years and/or have operating budgets under $100,000. These individuals typically work a traditional job outside of their nonprofit efforts and have limited budgets. Therefore they are not able to take advantage of nonprofit programs offered during the day. Our programs and services are primarily offered during evening and weekend hours.

Programs and Services

Our organization provides two distinct program offerings for nonprofits serving the North Texas community. The first is our incubator concept, which includes a 9-month on/ 3-month off hands on curriculum based training cohort for 10 startup organizations annually. They receive 9 hours of class training monthly in addition to a 2-3 hours one to one mentoring session.

The second is our community based training. During the program year, community training on various topics are provided to the greater nonprofit community in North Texas.
