Founded in 1998, Art Sphere Inc. (ASI) is a Philadelphia-based non-profit, established to teach the arts to youth living in underserved, low-income and inner-city communities.

Our mission is to engage the creative in communities, empower neighborhoods to explore the positives in peoples' lives, and heal the mind, body and spirit through the arts. Art Sphere Inc. nurtures the artist in all of us to be able to think beyond what is possible in our own lives and work collectively in a community that values diverse perspectives, knowledge and experience so we can share the best each of us has to offer.

Volunteer Coordinator / Volunteer Coordinator Assistant

The volunteer coordinator and volunteer coordinator assistant will work directly with the Director and administrative staff to complete tasks critical to the organization on a daily and long-term basis. Primary tasks will involve compiling new volunteer information into our database, communicating with volunteers, and maintaining volunteer records.

Responsibilities (online):

• Organization

• Create lists of confirmed volunteers to participate in events and positions (to assist directors in event planning)

• Maintain a spreadsheet database of volunteers for our records and mailing list

• Occasionally help post updates to our calendar and on our blog.

• Upload files to Microsoft 365

Requirements:

• Ability to volunteer for a minimum of 3 hours a week for at least 10 weeks
• Ability to manage self-guided work
• Access to technology and ability to meet virtually

• Completed volunteer release form, background check, and abuse clearance

• Time management and ability to work independently within deadlines

• Willingness to ask for clarification when more instruction is needed

• Attention to detail

• Ability to collaborate via Microsoft 365

• Tracking your own hours spent on tasks accomplished and completing an invoice for time volunteered

• Communicative - revises plans and updates ASI staff with Emails or phone calls regarding assignment cancellations or duty concerns

• Team player - willing to work on those projects above and beneath their skill sets when needed
