North County Lifeline is looking for an AmeriCorps VIP Fellow! This AmeriCorps Fellow will focus on the volunteer program.
VIP Fellows work to build quality, sustainable volunteer management systems at partner sites throughout San Diego County. This includes:
- Recruiting an average of 80 volunteers each to serve at their partner site, focusing on engaging "High-Value Volunteers": highly-skilled volunteers or volunteer leaders who make a high-value contribution to the organization and the clients it serves.
- Building business partnerships that support the partner site through volunteer involvement and financial support.
- Creating systems that build the organization’s capacity to utilize volunteers, such as the creation of volunteer position descriptions, development of tracking systems, and implementation of volunteer training programs.
- Receive certification in Volunteer Management.
AmeriCorps VIP Fellow positions are full-time (1,700 hours per term of service). Service terms are September 2018-August 2019. AmeriCorps is not a job; it is a paid service experience. All positions pay a living allowance of $16,000 throughout the term of service. An educational award of $5,815 is paid upon completion of the service term. Members also receive health insurance, have access to subsidized child care, and are eligible for student loan deferments.
