Scleroderma Foundation Michigan Chapter is seeking individuals who would like to do board work for a non-profit located in Southfield, MI.

Scleroderma Foundation Michigan Chapter serves the needs of scleroderma patients in the state of Michigan. Our four-fold mission of support, education, advocacy and research are at the core of the work we do.

We are looking for dedicated individuals who posses the following skill sets and established relationships:

  • Financial and Accounting
  • Development
  • Fund Raising
  • Nursing
  • Medical
  • Business Owners
  • Business Leadership
  • Committee Development
  • Automative

Board meetings are held monthly, with every other being held virtually.

Meetings are held on Monday, normally the third Monday of the month. In person meetings begin are held 6-7:30 p.m. and virtual meetings are 6:30-7:15 p.m.

Meetings are held in Birmingham and Farmington Hills.

The role of the board is to govern and not to handle the day to day operations of the chapter. Board members are required to actively participate in the chapter's largest fund raiser, Stampede Scleroderma held the first Sunday of June at the Detroit June either in person or virtually. Board members help to gain sponsors for the event also.

To provide educational & support to people with scleroderma & their families; to stimulate & support research designed to identify the cause & cure of scleroderma as well as improve methods of treatment & to enhance the public's awareness of the disease.

Description

We provide educational programs and services to scleroderma patients in the state of Michigan. We host Stampede Scleroderma every year at the Detroit Zoo and recruit volunteers to assist in the day of efforts of this event the first Sunday of June. We also look for community board members who can help to support our four-fold mission of educaiton, support, research and advocacy.
