Summary:
The Lynnwood Habitat for Humanity Store is seeking a volunteer to help set up and run a Store Recycling Program. The volunteer will work with vendors, set up bins and processes, monitor the program and train volunteers. In addition to training the volunteers and staff in the recycle system, the volunteer will handle sorting and processing of recyclables once system is in place.
Responsibilities:
- Work with recycling vendors and retail director to set up and maintain recycling agreements.
- Work with store manager to set up recycling location to include bins, signs and handling methods.
- Train staff and volunteers on recycling procedures
- Sort/re-sort recyclables as needed.
- Coordinate pick-up or drop off of recyclables to vendors.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work enthusiastically and positively with a diverse group of staff and volunteers.
- Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully in order to train, lead and coordinate on recycling.
- Interest in recycling and/or previous experience in recycling is helpful, but not required.
Commitment:
Minimum 3 month commitment, one four hour shift per week.
