ABOUT THE CLASSThe Tree Amigo class will be a mixture of online and hands-on learning. Participants are asked to commit for the full 5-week course which will run from June 24, 2017 through July 29, 2017. If enrolled, you are expected to come to each Saturday morning in-person class in order to earn the Tree Amigo title. If an in-person class is missed, we will arrange a make-up date.
The online material will be released at the beginning of each week and participants will have until that Friday to complete the reading and short assignments before the Saturday in-person training.
Saturday sessions will be about 3-4 hours, beginning either at 8AM or 9AM (depending on that week's hands-on project).

Mission Statement
Our mission is to cultivate a green and healthy Silicon Valley by engaging community members in the appreciation, protection, growth and maintenance of our urban ecosystem, especially our urban forest.
Description
The ultimate goal of the program is to facilitate the planting of one million trees in Silicon Valley, utilizing one million people. We have planted over 70,000 trees in San Jose, encouraging community members to join us in improving the environmental conditions of their communities. We focus on making a healthy urban forest accessible to all by offering services targeted towards disadvantaged communities because we believe a healthy environment should be available to all people, not just those who have the resources to access it.
