About

We're gearing up for our 20th Annual LA Cancer Challenge and looking for a group of AMAZING, energetic, and dedicated volunteers to be part of our Volunteer Planning Committee.

October 29,2017marks the 20th Anniversary of the LA Cancer Challenge 5K/10K/15k Run/Walk (LACC) held on the campus of UCLA. The LA Cancer Challenge is one of our largest fundraising events of the year. It includes a Fit Family Expo with more than 50 outdoor exhibitor booths, activity tents, a Kids Zone, an adult costume contest, kids costume parade and more, creating a fun-filled day for all!

By joining the committee you will be part of planning many of our fun activities on and off the course. The committee is a core part of our event and this year it will make our 20 th anniversary extra special for our participants.

Committee check-in meetings will be monthly to work on areas such as community outreach, corporate engagement, logistics and more.

A few details about the volunteer committee:

  • There are 4 sub-committees that you join including: Community outreach, Raffle, sponsorship, marketing committee
  • Meetings are held once a month and more frequent as the event approaches.
  • Volunteers are asked to give 2 hours of their time a week, most tasks can be accomplished at home, in the community over the phone or via email. This includes making phone calls, soliciting donations of good and services, picking up donations or making arrangements.
Commitments

By joining the committee you agree to fulfill a position, attend committee meetings, and follow through with an agreed-upon leadership role. If you cannot attend a scheduled meeting, we will be more than happy to discuss another meeting date. We are ALWAYS available to discuss regular updates, answer questions, or provide guidance along the way.

If you would like to combine your passion for our cause with your interest in development, event planning, and Halloween spirit, please email Nathaly at volunteer@pancreatic.org or call her at 310-473-5121.
