Volunteer for the Annual L.A. Cancer Challenge. ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW The 26th Annual Los Angeles Cancer Challenge is a Halloween-themed family-friendly charity event at the UCLA campus that benefits the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Research. The Hirshberg Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for pancreatic cancer and improving early detection methods. The funds raised at this event go towards funding seed grants for advancing research and providing resources for patients and their loved ones. VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Volunteers will be involved in a variety of aspects of the day including but not limited to managing booths, handing out water along the course, supervising our kid's zone, as well as any other minor tasks during the event. Teens and adult groups are welcome and we can provide volunteer/community service letters if needed. Volunteers are encouraged to dress in family-friendly costumes, or purple (our awareness color). We also ask that volunteers stay for a minimum of four hours. There are various shifts available but feel free to reach out if you need any special time accommodations. QUICK OVERVIEW Create content for the Hirshberg Foundation. ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW Founded in 1997, the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research is a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing pancreatic cancer research, and providing information, resources, and support to pancreatic cancer patients and their families. The foundation funds groundbreaking scientific research provides patient education and support and sustains the hope that this cancer will be eradicated once and for all. VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research is looking for some social media volunteers to help create content for our Instagram accounts ( @hirshbergfoundation & @LAcancerchallenge ) and Facebook. Volunteers will use existing photos from previous events and create original content and captions to help grow our following and engagement. Graphic design knowledge and experience using Canva are a plus! This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their portfolio while giving back. QUESTIONS?
