To keep the cats in our care physically attractive and emotionally happy as a means of increasing their chances at adoption and to enhance their lives, volunteers will talk to, pet, groom and play with adoptable cats. Volunteer may interact with cats while they are in their cages or take them into a visitation room to cuddle.

Description
Since 1926, the Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) has helped more than 1 million pets in need. The ARL is a dynamic, progressive-minded animal shelter dedicated to animals and people. In addition to our daily operations of caring for the 15,000+ animals that come into our shelter every year, we also offer many different programs to our community including pet adoption, pet behavior counseling, puppy/dog training classes, spay/neuter and animal cruelty intervention. Plus extensive volunteer programming which includes our own therapy animal program, TheraPets.
