Volunteer drivers needed! Deliver birthday cakes to at-risk youth in SF.

ORGANIZATION: Cake4Kids

Calling all drivers in San Francisco, CA! We need members of the community to help our volunteer bakers deliver birthday cakes to underprivileged children.

At Cake4Kids, we bake and deliver birthday cakes, cupcakes, cookies and brownies for foster children and at-risk youth - they might be in group homes, at a domestic violence or human trafficking shelter, in low income housing with or without a parent, or even homeless. But, not all of our bakers have cars or are able to take time away from work to deliver the beautiful sweets they have made for the children.

We need your help to deliver smiles!

All deliveries are made directly to agencies in San Francisco, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. In some cases, a delivery can be made any time during business hours, otherwise there is a 2-hour delivery window requested by the agency.

How does it work?

- We’ll contact you to see if you are available, anywhere from 48 hours to 2 weeks in advance

- You and the baker coordinate schedules to set pick up time

- You pick up the baked goods from the baker’s home or office

- You deliver directly to an agency during the specified delivery window

- Email us to let us know delivery is complete


What we ask of you:

- You must be 18 years of age or older

- You need to have a valid driver’s license, your own vehicle, and auto insurance

- Attend 1 short video conference orientation

What We Do: We deliver smiles to underserved youth, one birthday cake at a time. Our volunteer bakers, like you, bake and deliver homemade custom birthday cakes, cupcakes and cookies for those who are in foster care, are victims of violence or human trafficking, are homeless or are living at the povery line. We hope this seemingly simple gift gives the youth joy and helps to build their self-esteem. Who We Are: Cake4Kids is a Bay Area-based 501c3 that was started in 2010 and provides free custom birthday cakes, cupcakes or cookies to underserved children. What began as the grassroots effort of our founder and some friends delivering cakes to a few foster children in Santa Clara county, has grown into a full-fledged nonprofit that serves at-risk youth in 10 counties California and has provided over 13,000 cakes. Communities we serve: Alameda county, Contra Costa county, Fresno county, Marin county, Napa county, Sacramento county, San Diego county, San Francisco county, San Mateo county, Santa Clara county

Cake4Kids is a 501c3 that was started in 2010 and provides free custom birthday cakes, cupcakes, or cookies to underserved children. What began as the grassroots effort of our founder and some friends delivering cakes to a few foster children in a single county in Northern California, has grown into a full-fledged nonprofit that serves at-risk youth in 13 states... and counting! In 2021, Cake4Kids will have delivered over 30,000 cakes as an organization. There are still thousands and thousands more youth who need our support, so let's make an impact, together!
