Make a difference in the life of an adult!
Lead a small group of English language learners and help them practice their English skills!
Learners could be a variety of ages, from various countries and at various levels. You'll work on general conversation, following a provided curriculum as well as working on topics the learners deem important to them.
Must be able to commit to 10 weeks. You can continue tutoring additional sessions if you like. Days for classes are on Monday and Wednesday.
This is a great opportunity if two people would like to work together to teach the class.

Mission Statement
Our vision is 100% literacy in the Mid-South. Literacy Mid-South is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create a community actively engaged in continuous learning. Somewhere between 20% to 30% of adults in the Memphis metro area are functionally illiterate. That means more than just unemployment -- their minds are unused and their dreams are unrealized.
Description
YOU can help. There is no greater gift to give than helping a person succeed. Facilitate learning in the life of an adult who struggles with reading, writing, math and English as a foreign language through Literacy Mid-South's Adult Learning Program and English For You program. Volunteers are able to serve as facilitators to groups of adults or provide individual goal-centered tutoring to an adult learner.
