Rare Genomics Institute is a non-profit organization that helps families in need of genome research. The Data Scientist will be responsible for building models and applying statistical analytic approaches to a number of R&D challenges using large-scale, distributed systems in both relational and Microsoft Azure Machine learning environments.
Who We Want This role will plan, write, edit and manage a library of high-value, data-driven, and search engine optimized content that meets the information needs of specific client segments. The Content Manager will work across the Marketing team to provide customized content for campaigns, eBooks, case studies, blogs and white papers, and will work closely with the team to deploy that content.
Attractive candidates will bring strong creative writing and editing skills and foundational knowledge of B-to-B marketing practices. This position requires the ability to perform well under deadlines and be detail-oriented. If you are an expert in content optimization and consistency, we would like to meet you. This position is based in Austin, reporting to the Manager of Communications and Content in New York.
Responsibilities:
Write and edit content aligned with short and long term Mobile App, and App go-to-market goals.
Content will include COMPLAN: shorter copy for Mobile push notifications, creative content (video script, infographic copy).
Develop and manage an editorial calendar for Mobile App team in partnership with the Digital marketing experts.
Collaborate with the Mobile App and Digital Marketing team to help plan and create content.
Create the of content library for the Rare Genomics Mobile App
Report on content measurement and KPIs, including creating automatic reports relevant dashboards and analyses
Serve as primary point of contact for CONTENT creation for our Mobile Application.
Optimize content for SEO use
Support the Mobile Development team and marketing teams to implement content initiatives
Serve as the subject matter expert for Rare Genomics editorial style and ensure brand voice, tone and audience experience are consistent across all deliverables
Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role
Excellent written, editing and verbal communications skills
Analytical skills
Basic understanding of SEO, keyword research and web analytics tools
initial experience with B-to-B marketing and/or content for Web/Apps.
interest to develope experience in copywriting, content specialist/strategist and/or corporate communications experience
Communications, marketing or journalism degree desired

Description
Rare Genomics Institute (RGI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping rare disease
patients find a diagnosis, treatment, and pathway to a cure. Through personalized research
projects, RGI provides access to world leading medical institutions and scientists to conduct
genomic sequencing, coordinates with clinicians and counselors to interpret findings, and offers an
online crowd-funding platform to deliver financial solutions. RGI also supports rare disease
advocacy by fostering an online community of rare disease patients and supporting rare disease
research through a yearly grant competition.
Since being founded in 2011, RGI has completed over 300 genetic sequencing and analysis
projects, assisted patients fund over $3.5 million worth of genomic sequencing, discovered 8
unique genetic mutations in-house, given over $2 million dollars in grants to researchers on rare
disease, and developed an online community with over 10,000 rare disease members.
Through volunteers, RGI is able to slowly push science and health care forward to meet the needs
