Help students of all ages to create "Aziza Doors" for installation throughout Palmer Park. This event will coincide with the Palmer Park Art Fair.
Doors are magical, no matter what size they are. Come to the 2017 Palmer Park Art Fair and experience a display of doors transformed into art by local Detroit artists; part of the traveling exhibition Detroit Doors of Opportunity.
The door fun doesn't stop there. Have you ever heard of Aziza fairies? They are magical fairy creatures from West Africa that give spiritual advice, wisdom, and knowledge to those lucky enough to see them. Detroit's Palmer Park has been home to a population of Azizas since 2015 who arrive through miniature magical doors made by Detroit communities. This year, we want to invite more of these wise-fairies to our city by creating more magical doors. Join our hands-on workshop, creating these doors and more
*Volunteers must be over 18 years old.
