We are looking for 1-2 volunteers to help 12 people learn language by engaging in various activities and playing games. This is a fun opportunity for someone who enjoys teaching others in a relaxed and casual environment. Training will be provided.
A written letter will be issued upon volunteer service completion indicating the total number of hours served that will be useful for resume building.
Requirements:
1. Must be available Thursday afternoons from 1-2:30 pm.
2. Must be available for a minimum of three months.
3. Fluency in Mandarin preferred, but not required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Develop games and hands on activities for students to learn English as a second language.
2. Provide one-on-one support for students.
3. Lead assigned ESL class for a minimum of a three-month period.
4. Counsel and support students in developing and accomplishing individual learning goals, as needed.
5. Document student attendance, progress, and areas of need.
