Help Safe Places compile gift bags of pantry items and toiletries for our clients. Safe Places clients are families who are homeless as a result of domestic violence. When they enter our program they are given a home and supportive case management to help them find permanency and self-sufficiency in their life free of abuse. We do our best to prepare them for the future while supporting them in the present. Helping us compile gift bags is a way to help us help them and a great opportunity to learn about the other ways you can get involved with Safe Places. The Mission of Safe Places is to provide families who are homeless as a result of domestic violence with safety and shelter while empowering them to break the cycle and live free of abuse.
Description
We provide 24-month transitional housing to families who are homeless as a result of domestic violence. We empower survivors of domestic violence through :
- Strength-based case management
- Individual financial counseling
- The goal of self-sufficiency
- Affordable housing search assistance
- Referrals for services such as abuse counseling, legal aid, and immigration
