Are you ready to do some heavy-lifting to set up new homes for refugees?

We are seeking volunteer(s) to help our department's Pre-Arrival Specialist pick up donations and set up apartments for arriving refugee families. We receive donations from families, communities, businesses, individuals, churches, and schools. Volunteers will help pick-up items around town and help us move them to our donation storage facility, as well as help select and move items from our storage facility to new homes.

Volunteer(s) must be in good shape for this activity, and should be able to lift and transport heavy items. Volunteer(s) must be able to bend, stoop, push and lift up to 50 lbs, and be able to help move large furniture. Volunteers will also unpack donations, and pick items for apartment setup for arriving refugee families.

A flexible schedule is desirable, as donation pick-up and apartment set-ups can be sporadic.

In addition to the application, we require 2 character references, a background check, and attendance at an orientation. Once your application is submitted, the Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to guide you through the process.
