Are you ready to make a difference in your community and set up new homes for new refugees in Tucson?
We are seeking volunteer(s) to help our department's Pre-Arrival Specialist pick up donations and set up apartments for arriving refugee families. We receive donations from families, communities, businesses, individuals, churches, and schools. Volunteers will help pick-up items around town and help us move them to our donation storage facility, as well as help select and move items from our storage facility to new homes.
Volunteers should be able to bend, stoop, push, transport, and lift up to 25-50 lbs, and be able to help move large furniture with the help of others. Volunteers will also unpack donations and pick items for apartment setup for arriving refugee families.
We will ask volunteers to designate a minimum of one day a week to be on call as support for refugee apartment set-up as refugees arrive.
