About

This position requires someone with good listening skills and an ability to convey empathy. We are looking for people experienced in either grief or bereavement support or willing to be trained, to make phone calls to recently bereaved. These calls are placed to the survivor, the person who was the main caregiver, once a month for 13 months after the death of a person.

A once a month meeting takes place in our office in Port Angeles, otherwise, the work is to be done from your home phone.

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County provides 24/7 nursing availability to terminally ill patients and their families, and also grief and bereavement support to the entire community of Port Angeles and Sequim.

Applicants will need to fill a volunteer application, pass a background check, and have an interview with the Volunteer Services Manager. Training is available. Attending the Community Education & Volunteer Training and the monthly In-services will be recommended.
