ORGANIZATION: Community Action Marin

Community action Marin is a non-profit organization whose mission is to ultimately alleviate poverty, by promoting independence among low income folks in Marin. We strive to improve stability, quality of life and community connection through a variety of different social services that provide the foundation to develop life skills. Our programs support clients through financial management, career coaching, child care support, energy assistance, better nutrition, advocacy and support for families living with mental illness and overall improvement of standard of living in Marin. One of our service centers provides counselling and therapy to mental health clients. This centre does a lot of good in the community and provides relief and care for those in need. Over 75% of individuals who start counselling with us are currently on a long term path to recovery and complete their therapy succesfully.

The drop in centre at the Kerner Boulevard location is seeking artists to join the team on Saturdays from 1-4 that are able to come speak to mental health clients about their journey and their art. WE are hoping to get a rotation of different artists and people pursuing artistic endeavours to speak every saturday! This would be an amazing achievement and we hope you can help! You only have to volunteer once on a Saturday from 1-4 pm. And if you love it you can do it again!!

You do not need to be a "professional" artist but just an individual who creates art and wants to share your passion for the artistic experience and journey! But professional artists also welcome!! This would be an amazing experience for you and the clients as they are always eager to learn from others and be inspired!
