Purpose: Help Community Action Marin with critical graphic design needs while gaining valuable experience and making a difference to improve the lives of people and families in need. In this role you will also help to advance equity and build a better community. using your commitment, passion, creative skills, and vision Specific tasks include: Creating flyers, print and digital ads, mailings, signage, and other branded digital assets. Working with our exceptional Creative Manager on new designs, creating additional versions of templates, and helping update existing materials to raise awareness, support our services, and to promote events. All the fliers we create support our programs in several ways, depending on their audience. They might feature services available, convey information about our volunteer needs, elicit donors, or just create awareness about our organization overall. Community Action Marin Goals: To reduce poverty and promote equity through advocacy and the provision of education, mental health, and safety net services to low-income families and individuals. Agency contacts: Volunteer Services - volunteer@camarin.org Responsibilities and duties: We will provide past examples, copy, a template (if applicable), and complete direction including any art, photography or logos, that should be included. We currently have flier templates, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have files we can provide access to that include photos and more, and the ability to provide any other information you need. Complete project work within the established timeline. Be aware of the latest techniques and procedures used in designs. Suggest new ways of improving the quality of designs and other project issues. Use strong analytical and artistic approaches to solve complex issues. Demonstrate a positive attitude and welcome a collaborative work environment. Adhere to Agency privacy and confidentiality standards, health and safety protocols, and the code of ethics, where applicable. Communicate with individuals in a respectful manner and responsive approach to differing beliefs and practices, sexual orientations, disability statuses, gender identities, ages, cultural preferences, linguistic needs, and other state and federal protected statuses. Time commitment: Optional Days/Hours based on project scope 10 to 15 hours per week Required skills and qualifications: Skills Graphic design, print design and experience in Adobe Creative Cloud including knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign Experience in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint a plus Both creative and innovative approach Professional graphic design experience or completing/completed a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design Ability to engage with individuals in an empathetic, culturally responsible manner Strong verbal and written communication skills Qualifications Demonstrate good judgement Willingness to provide a pleasant and welcoming environment Adapts well to a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and works effectively within a team

Crossing-Walk Guard Volunteer Job Posting Purpose: A Volunteer Crossing-Walk Guard will join the agency to ensure safe crossing at legally marked pedestrian walkways to the community we serve. The crossing-walk guard is expected to interact with children and their parents/families to safely cross public streets at legally marked pedestrian walkways. Agency contacts: Volunteer Services - volunteer@camarin.org Responsibilities and duties: Safely stand at the entrance of the legally marked pedestrian walkway to wait for children and their parents/families to cross the street. Welcome and greet children and their parents/families in a polite and friendly manner when they arrive at the pedestrian crossing entrance. Request they wait at the entrance until you indicate it is safe to cross the street. If there is a traffic signal, when the traffic signal turns red, step into the pedestrian walkway, hold the Stop traffic sign up, ensure traffic is stopped in both directions and indicate to the children and their parents/families it is safe to cross the street. If there is no traffic signal, remain at the entrance of the pedestrian walkway, hold the Stop traffic sign up to indicate to traffic to stop for pedestrians crossing. When traffic has stopped in both directions, step into the pedestrian walkway holding up the Stop traffic sign and indicate to the children and their parents/families it is safe to cross the street. After the children and their parents/families have safely crossed the street, return to the entrance of the marked pedestrian walkway, hold down the Stop traffic sign and wait for other children and their parents/families to cross the street. Receive training on safely directing children and their parents/families to safely cross the street at legally marked pedestrian walkways. Communicate with agency personnel appropriately. Adhere to Agency privacy and confidentiality standards, and code of ethics. Communicate with individuals in a respectful manner and responsive approach to differing beliefs and practices, sexual orientations, disability statuses, gender identities, ages, cultural preferences, linguistic needs, and other state and federal protected statuses. Time commitment: Regular weekly commitment required Available weekdays (choose one or all): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Required skills and qualifications: 18+ years of age. Crossing-Walk Guard gear provided by Agency. Ability to engage with the public in an empathetic, culturally responsible manner. Verbal communication skills. Dar la bienvenida y saludar a los niños y a sus padres/familias de forma educada y amistosa cuando lleguen a la entrada del paso de peatones. Pídales que esperen en la entrada hasta que usted les indique que es seguro cruzar la calle. Si hay un semáforo, cuando éste se ponga en rojo, entre en el paso de peatones, mantenga levantada la señal de Stop, asegúrese de que el tráfico está detenido en ambas direcciones e indique a los niños y a sus padres/familias que es seguro cruzar la calle. Si no hay semáforo, permanezca en la entrada del paso de peatones, mantenga levantada la señal de Stop para indicar al tráfico que se detenga para que crucen los peatones. Cuando el tráfico se haya detenido en ambas direcciones, entre en el paso de peatones sosteniendo la señal de Stop e indique a los niños y a sus padres/familias que es seguro cruzar la calle. Una vez que los niños y sus padres/familias hayan cruzado la calle de forma segura, vuelva a la entrada del paso de peatones señalizado, mantenga la señal de Stop y espere a que otros niños y sus padres/familias crucen la calle.
