Cornerstone Montgomery is actively seeking volunteers to serve as wellness guides to clients by their organization. Our organization champions wellness as a function of a healthy lifestyle and appropriate self-care. We are now looking for community members/organizations that can assist our clients with integrating wellness and healthy living into their daily life. The ideal candidates/organizations would be available on a yet-to-be-determined schedule (agreed upon by the volunteer(s) and the Volunteer Maryland Coordinator. The candidate(s) would need to have a patient and caring affect and be able to assist with leading approved group activities.

Description of Duties:

- Assist with leading wellness groups

- Assist with preparation and distribution group materials (as applicable)

- Encourage clients to strive towards a healthy lifestyle

- Provide support for clients as they make this lifestyle transition

Qualifications:

- Patience in Abundance

- Ability to conversant freely and openly about fitness and wellness

- Ability to set a regular schedule for volunteer service (at least 3 months of service)

- Ability to participate (stand, walk, exercise, move, bend) in wellness activities fully

- Ability to motivate and encourage without judgment

Time Requirements:

Approximately 2 days/week for at least 3 months.

Orientation/Training: New Volunteer Orientation provided
