Do you enjoy sharing your passion for animals with new people? Join the VCAS Community Outreach Team! The team consists of staff and volunteers focused on engaging and educating the public about VCAS animals and programs.
Currently seeking organized and creative individuals to join the VCAS Event Planning team! Your role will allow the shelter to reach a greater portion of the VCAS audience and expand our reach, thus resulting in more adoptions and permanent homes for the animals in our care!
Volunteer Duties
- Attending Event Planning Team meetings at regular intervals depending on nature of the event being worked on at that time - assume a role as needed
- Collaborating with other team members on event purpose, theme, & focus
- Recruiting vendors for VCAS Signature Events 4x per year
- Developing &/or distributing marketing messaging and materials in conjunction with VCAS Marketing & Media Manager
- Recruiting volunteer help for all aspects of the event planning process & for event in conjunction with the Volunteer Programs Manager

Description
VCAS is an open entry, municipal animal shelter serving 8 cities in Ventura County as well as all unincorporated areas of the County. VCAS currently holds a No-Kill status and has since January 2014. We are looking for passionate, dedicated, self-motivated volunteers to help us continue our mission of keeping Ventura County No-Kill. All volunteer positions are key in our achievement of this worthy mission, and for maintaining it as well.
