ORGANIZATION: The Turning Point (Rape Crisis Center)

The Turning Point is now seeking an energetic volunteer to work alongside our Community Outreach Coordinator as a helping hand. This volunteer position will assist with administrative duties in the office with the possibility of working events with in the community with the Community Outreach Coordinator.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to volunteer on a set schedule and hours
  • Computer skills
  • Comfortable making phone calls
  • Weekend hours if needed
  • Public speaking skills
  • People skills
  • Assist with designing flyers, invites, etc.
  • Assist our Community Outreach Coordinator by passing out brochures and attending fairs in areas around Collin County

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to provide counseling, education, and advocacy for those impacted by sexual violence.

Description

Free services are provided to victims of all forms of sexual violence including: attempted sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, date rape, incest, marital rape, and sexual harassment, no matter how long ago the incident occurred. Our services are provided by staff and trained volunteers.

We also provide free education to the middle schools, high schools, colleges, and the general community on topics such as bullying, sexual harassment, date rape, and other forms of sexual violence.
