Summary: The Assistant will perform a variety of tasks depending on project deadlines in the office. This may include answering phones and other administrative tasks as assigned by Management who has oversight of this volunteer. This position helps to extend the resources in the organization to better assist and direct the needs of our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Answering phones * Data entry * Public Relations * Maintenance of office space (when applicable) * Other duties specifically around coordination of special events, or as assigned Requirements * Must present a professional appearance and a friendly manner * Must be dependable and punctual * Be courteous and personable when dealing with the public * Be self-directed, willing to take initiative, and detail-oriented * Respect and maintain confidentiality of Behavioral Health Navigators Center volunteers, partners, and donors * Computer skills are desired, but not necessary.
Attends general volunteer orientation Completes office orientation which includes training on the following items: o Phone System Tutorial o Database Tutorial o Filing System and BHNC policies and procedures.

Description
Return functional capacity and independence to consumers and to reduce health disparities for vulnerable populations. BHNC will implement our goals and strategies by eliminating barriers to care through effective case management and compassionate peer support services.

Strategies:
- partner with local and national advocacy agencies
- coordinate somatic care and conduct monthly educational seminars with healthcare vendors
- maintain 51% peer support services and partner with regulatory agencies to address compliance violations
- establish aggressive community outreach programs and onsite and offsite programs
- connect consumers to "Medical Homes" and support services
- advocate integrated electronic medical record systems
- conduct healthcare exchange training and seminars
