Join UCCS & Pikes Peak United Way for a Poverty Simulator! The two-hour long simulation gives you a realistic and interactive experience of what it's like to live in poverty for one month. You will either join a family and have to navigate the social services world, or work at an agency (like the pawn shop, the school, or the homeless shelter) and act as a resource to the families.
The simulator is challenging, thought-provoking, and fun! It's great for groups, students, teachers, anyone in the profit or non-profit industry, or anyone looking to expand their perspective on the realities many people in our community face every day.
The simulator will begin at 5:00 and last until approximately 7:00. All you need to bring is an open mind and a willingness to participate!
