Pikes Peak United Way is about mobilizing and growing the caring power in our community!
Message from President/CEO, JD Dallager:We're excited because we've kicked off this year's Pikes Peak United Way campaign. We've set a goal of raising $5.6 million to help improve the lives of people throughout our community......and to do that we need your help.
This year's theme is "It Could Be You!" And it could!
· When the residents of Castle West Apartments went to bed early this year, they never imagined that when they awoke they would soon be without their homes or possessions.
· One in every three individuals residing in Colorado Springs will use a program or service provided by thePikes Peak United Way and our partner Agencies sometime in their lifetime.
Yes, it could be you............either using one or more of our local 42 Partner Agencies' services or helping others through your generous contribution of time, talent, and resources.
And speaking of "local", Nine Vision Councils composed of respected Pikes Peak Region volunteer business, governmental, non-profit, and academic leaders/experts have worked tirelessly the past 7 months to determine and gather data on indicators of the Quality of Life in our community. These indicators range from the arts and environment to public safety and transportation, to name a few. At least one of them will excite your passion!
Our staff and volunteers have compiled all this information into a comprehensive report detailing Quality of Life in the Pikes Peak Region. The report was unveiled publicly Thursday, September 13, 2007 and will be presented in greater detail at the Wednesday, September 26, 2007 Leadership Summit at the Antlers Hotel. You can get copies of it at Pikes Peak United Way or click here to view it now. In it you'll learn a lot about our community's quality of life and how you can help continue to improve it.
So....browse through our website and learn how Pikes Peak United Way is helping bring together the right people, resources, and ideas to move the community forward in tackling tough local issues.
Find out how you can get involved - donate, volunteer your time, take action! If you're already a donor or volunteer, THANK YOU for your continued support of United Way. Working together, we're building a stronger community!
