As an American Cancer Society (ACS) Cancer Resource Center volunteer at Swedish Hospital on First Hill in Seattle, you can help connect cancer patients to local programs, services, day-to-day help and emotional support. You will be trained to listen and connect patients and their loved ones with: rides to treatment, free cosmetic courses for women going through chemotherapy, lodging during treatment, wigs, hats, peer support and more. We are looking for individuals with strong communication and interpersonal skills who are passionate about working directly with patients. You will be asked to collect patient information for referrals to programs and must feel comfortable doing so. You will establish a connection with cancer patients and assist with meeting their cancer-related needs in a fun, collaborative and supportive environment.
