Chester County OIC (CC-OIC) will hold a Basic Tutor Training session for volunteer tutors wishing to work with adult learners in Chester County.

The Adult Tutor Program of the CC-OIC is offering a Tutor Orientation and Basic Tutor Training Session for volunteers who are interested in working with adult learners (18 and over) who need help preparing for the GED test, want to improve their reading and writing skills or want to improve their English Language skills. The AdultTutor Program serves a variety of students, both native and non-native speakers and we rely solely on volunteers to work with our students. Tutors must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline and must be willing to meet with their student at least 3 hours per week on a regular basis. No formal teaching experience is required and tutors will meet with students in a public setting at a mutually agreed upon time and location.

This training session, will be held on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Burke Room of the Chester County Library in Exton, PA. But, once you are matched with a student - you can meet in any of the Chester County libraries for tutoring.
