Help adults in our community to study for and achieve their GED. Volunteer to be an assistant in one of our classrooms. No classroom preparation time is needed. Strong reading and writing and/or math skills are needed. You will not be teaching the class, but will assist the instructor with activities and exercises. You may work one on one with students needing individual instruction in a subject. There are daytime and evening classes that you can choose to help in. Daytime classes take place in Exton at the CareerLink, 479 Thomas Jones Way, Suite 500, Exton, These classes run from 9:00 to 4:00 Monday through Thursday and 9:00 to 1:00 on Friday. You can choose the days and times that you would like to volunteer. There is no required amount of time, so you may volunteer for as many hours as you would like to help. Evening classes take place at Chester County OIC, 22 N. Fifth Avenue, Coatesville, PA 19320. They are on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00, You can choose to volunteer for one or both nights.

Volunteer tutors needed to work with adult learners! Immediate need for Volunteer Tutors! Chester County Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) is a non-profit organization located in Coatesville, serving Chester County by providing free adult basic literacy education and life skills programs that prepare individuals for employment and econimic self sufficiency. The OIC Adult Tutoring Program partners with the Chester County Library in Exton where our office is located. We provide free one-on-one tutoring for adult learners who would like help learning English, Reading, Writing, Math and test prep. Help others in the community learn to speak English. You will aide an ESL teacher in the classroom, helping adult students to improve their English speaking, reading and writing skills. No experience is necessary. No classroom preparation is necessary; you will be helping the instructor guide students in activities and reading and writing exercises. There are morning and evening classes. You can choose to help in a class that fits with your schedule. Morning classes are held in Exton, PA. Classes are held from Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 to 12:00. You can choose to assist as many days as you would like. Evening classes are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:30 at the Henderson High School, 400 Montgomery Avenue in West Chester and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Chester County OIC, 22 N. 5th Avenue in Coatesville. You can choose to assist on one or both evenings.
