There are many seniors that are missing important medical appointments because they do not have the means to get there. They may not be safe to drive themselves, do not have access to a car, don't have friends or family to call on, and do not qualify for transportation services. Help these seniors out by volunteering to get them to and from their appointments safely. Many of these individuals do not have anyone to ask, or they do not want to be a burden, so they end up just not going to their medical appointments. Make a difference and lend your driving skills for a few hours! You an sign up to help drive once a week, once a month, or help with one-time requests when you have time!
Volunteer Services assists low-income older adults and persons living with disabilities. Volunteers can provide assistance with light housecleaning, transportation, grocery shopping, home repair and yard care. With a little help from volunteers, clients can continue to live independently in their homes.
Time and location are very flexible; you can volunteer in your own neighborhood at on days that work for you, at times and frequency that fit your schedule. You are provided with an orientation and ongoing staff support.
