Habitat for Humanity of Greater L.A. is in need of volunteers to join a new committee, or volunteer a few days, in asking for donations. Volunteers will conduct internet research of prospect donors from a target list, donors of Gift in Kind donations of goods and services in support of our Hollywood Build Silent Auctions. We would also love to have a team or committee of volunteers that help to make our Silent Auction a great funding revenue of our mission and work by securing items of higher value, and supporting the Habitat staff organizing and running the auctions.

Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Description
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization dedicated to building simple, decent housing in partnership with families in need. Habitat assists very low-income working families who do not qualify for conventional home loans. With the help of volunteer labor and donations from service organizations, faith groups, corporations and individuals, Habitat is able to sell the homes to our partner families at no profit and zero-interest financing. Monthly mortgage payments go into the Revolving Fund for Humanity, which helps build homes for more families. Partner families must also invest 500 hours of sweat equity to help build their own homes as well as the homes of their future neighbors. In this way, Habitat offers a hand up, not a hand out.
Volunteers are the heart of Habitat for Humanity. We depend on individuals and groups to help us achieve our goal of eliminating poverty housing and making decent, affordable homes a reality for all families. Homeowner families have seen their lives transformed, becoming stronger members of society and making a difference in the community.
