ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army San Diego Regional Office

This volunteer position is an ongoing opportunity. Interested candidates must be available on Thursday afternoons from 2:30pm-5:00 pm.

Support the El Cajon Corps Community Center by becoming an After School Program Aide! We are looking for 3-4 volunteers to help out our youth program with homework help and after school care. Activities include tutoring, one-on-one homework help, as well as helping out with crafts and outdoor recreational activities relating to our intergenerational garden program.

Qualifications and requirements for this position:

  • Must be able to commit from 2:30-5:00 pm on Thursdays, for three months or more
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and boundaries as required and appropriate
  • Have strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse staff and participants
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required
  • Bilingual in Arabic and English preferred, but not required
