Volunteering with Habitat Newburgh is a fun and rewarding way to give back, meet new people, learn new skills, and be a part of an amazing community of people putting their compassion into action. Volunteers turn a family’s dream of owning a home into a reality.

We are always looking for 'Habitat Skilled' volunteers. This means we are looking for volunteers who are dedicated and driven towards working for a better community. There is no construction experience necessary!

We have volunteers assist every Wednesday - Saturday, 8AM - 1PM. The volunteer tasks vary greatly depending on what we are working on at the time. One constant is that we are always on the look out to involve community members from Newburgh and beyond.

To volunteer, pop on over to Newburgh.VolunteerHub.com and follow the directions to sign up for any of our eligible sites.

If you have any questions, please contact our Volunteer & Outreach Coordinator, Matt Arbolino, at MArbolino@HabitatNewburgh.org.

Thanks and see you soon!

Mission Statement

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh is dedicated to providing decent, affordable housing in partnership with families in need. Reaching across religious, cultural, and racial boundaries, we seek to rebuild a sense of community with the common goal of strong neighborhoods and dignity through homeownership.

Description

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

Habitat succeeds in reintroducing into neighborhoods the most basic building block of any community - the homeowner. Habitat provides resources, guidance, and hope to aspiring families. These families work from within their neighborhoods, creating the change we all seek, and repaying the investment that we have made in them.

Since affiliation with Habitat for Humanity International in 1999, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh has:

  • Acquired numerous abandoned houses in the City of Newburgh for rehabilitation
  • Organized thousands of volunteers
  • Completed 85 houses
  • Partnered with 457 individuals, including 274children
  • Completed 32 A Brush With Kindness programs
